Jordan is totally dependent on climatic conditions. That is why, Jordan is essentially an importer of foodstuffs. The arable lands which are located in the Jordan valley, do not exceed 2% of the surface of the country. Grain farming is little developed and the number of fruit trees reached almost 2 millions, among which 40% for citrus fruits.
