Agriculture is a leadind sector of the Moroccan economy and it can contribute from 14% to 18% of the GDP according to years. In 1999, the agricultural sector produced only 35.5 million quintals, because of the aridity, hardly half of these last years' production. Morocco, as many others countries, depends largely on climatic conditions. The main productions are : wheat, barley and citrus fruits.
