Latvia has a surface of 64,600 km ² or 6,500,000 hectares. It is a country rich in natural resources and it has a good position for dairy products and meat exports. The independence in 1991, paved the way for privatizations and for the opening of the market.
Today, Latvia is an emerging country which attracts numerous investors. The Lettish agricultural policy is based on an export development.
