Banks: from 9:00 to 16:00 from Monday to Thursday, from 9:30 to 17:00 on Fridays. Some bank branches open on Saturday morning.


In order to drive in the country it is compulsory to have an international driving license along with the national driving license. The road conditions are good, especially in the main cities area. If, however, you would like to stray from the beaten track - into the bush - it's advised to drive 4X4. Fuel supply facilities are available everywhere in the metropolitan areas, but are less frequent in the countryside or the bush. If driving in remote areas, special precautions must be taken.Travelling by bus is effective and comfortable.

A railroad network does exist. The comfort standards in trains may vary from average to very comfortable. However, it is faster to travel by air considering the distances.

Air transport is excellent but domestic flights are expensive. The network is very developed and ensures the connections between the main cities. One flight almost every hour is ensured between the most important cities.

The common language in Australia is English. English is used in the legal system, administrative services, businesses and general correspondence. However, Australian minority groups speak more than 200 Aboriginal and immigrant languages.
