Business hours
Sunday is the official day of rest. Some administrations and state-owned entreprises are usualy closed in the afternoon. Openings hours vary in summer and during the period of Ramadan.Banks usualy close at 4pm and on saturday.
Transportation
Road
Bus: The domestic transport company SNTRI and Trans-Tour provide services to the most far away places of Tunisia. Rental: Collective Taxi Rental with a capacity of 5 or 6 persons with luggage, rental leaves only when it is full. In each city, there is a rental station. Cars with blue strips serve nearby places and those with red strips serve long distances.
Rail
The network extends over 2,000 km and covers almost the whole territory, connecting most of the big cities of the North, Tunis, Bizerte, Beja and of the East coast: Sfax, Gabes. An express line has been opened between Tunis and Gabes. Various discount cards, from 25 to 50 percent off, can be obtained: the carte jeune, the blue card and the rail museum card.
