From January 1st of 2002, the currency in circulation is the euro. There are some notes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euros. The nominal values of the coins are the following: 1 cent (or 1/100 of euro), 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 euro and 2 euros.

Businesses: from Monday to Friday from 8.30 AM to 12 AM and from 2 PM to 6 PM. Banks: from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM and some of them are open on Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Official language: Luxembourger. The majority of Luxembourgers also speak French, German and English. French is used for written legislation. Moreover, French, Luxembourg and German are used as administrative and judicial languages. French is the common language of the Administration especially in writing. Luxembourger is the most frequently used language in private life. Television in Luxembourg is in French but radio broadcasts in the three languages.
