"What China's Entry into the WTO Means to San Diego Companies"

Kimberly Benson is the Vice President of Cange & Associates International, Inc. (CAI), a San Diego-based export management company and international business consultants. Kim recently participated in the drafting of a grant application for the San Diego World Trade Center for a new program which would greatly expand international trade relationships between San Diego companies and the member nations of APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation). She recently received a formal invitation from the Chinese government (specifically, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation) to participate in the October 2001 APEC CEO Summit to be held in Shanghai. She sees this as an excellent opportunity to promote the advantages of, and clarify issues related to, companies throughout California (and specifically San Diego) via dialog among world leaders at the Summit. Participants include world government leaders such as Jiang Zemin, Vladimir Putin, Vincente Fox, George Bush, and business leaders such as Bill Gates. Kim was a nominee for Woman of the Year for the WIT-SD Chapter.
